Why Giraffe?
Giraffe’s have the biggest heart of all land animals, and they stick out their long necks, taking chances to meet needs.

1. Human needs are universal. We all have the same needs.

2. Feelings arise from our needs, not events outside of ourselves. 

3. Feelings result from needs being met or unmet.

4. Any action is an attempt to meet a need.

5. Connection increases when the need behind an action is understood.

6. Translating judgments into feelings and needs connects us to ourselves and others.

7. When attention is on needs, opportunities to meet them abound.

8. We are interested in everybody’s needs equally.

9. We give to meet our own need to contribute.

10. Knowing we always act from choice renders term such as

11. Must, have-to, should, shouldn’t, can’t, untruthful.

12. The using of force is for protection, without moral judgment. 

13. Behind every “you” statement, is a powerful “I” statement.
